Lyne Bessette Ranked 7th in UCI World Cup Cyclocross Series

January 12, 2006 – Knowlton, Québec’s Lyne Bessette (Cyclocrossworld/Louis Garneau) continues to make significant progress towards her goal of success at the Cyclocross Worlds, scheduled to take place January 28-29, in Zeddam, Holland.

Bessette is currently ranked 7th overall in the UCI World Cup Cyclocross Series, the first Canadian woman to achieve such a ranking. Her recent performances Р2nd at the 59e Grand Prix du Nouvel-An in P̩tange, Luxembourg, 3rd place at Hooglede-Gits in Belgium, and 12th in Hofstade, Belgium Рhave helped her to rocket up in the standings.

Bessette is preparing for the Cyclocross Worlds in tandem with training as a member of Team T-Mobile at their training camp in Mallorca, Spain for the beginning of the European road season. T-Mobile’s early season racing plans include the Geelong Tour in Australia, the Tour of New Zealand.
