February 24, 2006 – Lyne Bessette is happily in one piece after yesterday’s frightening crash in Stage 4 at the Tour of Geelong in Australia that took down Germany’s Judith Arndt and Australia’s Nathalie Bates. Early reports had indicated that Canada’s top cyclist had broken her collarbone in the crash, but reports from Bessette herself indicate that despite bruises, she is in fact ‘in one piece.’ This crash comes close to the beginning of the Melbourne Commonwealth Games where Bessette is considered a favourite in the road race competition.
