Louis Garneau Sponsors Bessette And Johnson For \’Cross

October 14, 2005 – With the launch of the season, both Bessette and Johnson have already displayed their talent at the first two stops on the US Grand Prix of cyclocross. Already there’s been two victories for both Bessette, as well as the Steeple X frame. Bessette walked away in first place for both the Cannondale Stumptown Cyclocross Classic and the Rad Racing GP of Cyclocross. Bessette is considered one of the greatest female contenders for the cyclocross season with two Canadian Cyclocross Champion awards and the Grand Prix of France World Cup under her belt. Tim Johnson is no novice to cyclocross either. His resume includes five national cyclocross championship titles and the first American to medal at a world championship cyclocross race .

The history between Lyne Bessette, Tim Johnson and Louis Garneau reads like chapters in a book. From their combined involvement in the Saturn Cycling Team, to independent endeavors including Quark Cycling Team and Jittery Joe’s Kalahari Team, Louis Garneau has evolved with each athlete and is excited to announce the sponsorship of both Lyne Bessette and Tim Johnson for the 2005-06 Cyclocross Season. Louis Garneau announces the introduction of its new cyclocross frame, the Steeple X. The Steeple X was developed with the racer in mind. We have opted for a race proven, European type, square geometry which provides a larger front triangle. For better shouldering, the variable shaped top tube has a flat bottom section. The Steeple X is also designed with a light aluminum triple butted front triangle. Carbon chain and back stays and fork have been added for better comfort. This bike is ready to extend your road biking season.
