Les Humphreys Recovering after Being Hit by Car

September 3, 2008 (Arnprior, ON) – We have just learned that Les Humphreys, a top rider during the 60s with the Hamilton Cycling Club and currently an active member of the Ottawa and Almonte Cycling Clubs, is in hospital recovering after a driver cut in front of him during a club ride with friends in Arnprior.

While doctors have indicated that he seemed to be okay he is being treated for a possible fractured shoulder and broken hip. Humphreys was apparently coming across, or about to come across, a bridge to join his friends at a restaurant when the accident happened. The driver has been charged.

Thanks to Valerie Davidge for sending us this news to let friends and supporters know. We join the cycling community in wishing Les, known as the “King Pin” of sportif cycling in the Ottawa valley, a speedy recovery.
