Leipheimer Leads Fund-Raiser for Katrina\’s Animal Relief Effort

September 10, 2005 – Tour de France star, Levi Leipheimer, of Santa Rosa, Calif. will lead the recreational Supercuts Road Slow Ride at Infineon Raceway, Saturday September 10th. All money raised in the Supercuts Road Slow Ride will go towards the relief of animal suffering in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Leipheimer is married to a former pro cyclist, ne Odessa Gunn, who is a champion for animal causes.

The Supercuts Road Slow Ride is an easy-paced recreational ride of one hour’s duration on the famed Infineon Raceway, used for NASCAR and IRL events, and is part of the Infineon Technologies Cougar Mountain Classic outdoor sports festival taking place this weekend, September 7-9 at the Infineon Raceway in Sonoma County.Leipheimer will arrive onsite at Infineon Raceway at 10:45 a.m. and will lead the Supercuts Slow Ride, which runs between 12 noon and 1 p.m. He will be available for media interviews.
Leipheimer is a distinguished veteran of four Tours de France, finishing sixth in the 2005 Tour de France, ninth in 2004 and eighth in 2002.
