Lance Armstrong Memorabilia Auction to Benefit Disabled Athlete Statue

release by CCSAA

February 27, 2009 – Cara Dunne-Yates, daughter of Cross Country Ski Areas Association (CCSAA) marketing agent, Mike Dunne, was the first recipient of The Spirit of Survivorship presented by the Lance Armstrong Foundation and the award was the first of many awards presented by the Foundation.

The Foundation just donated two signed items to be used for fundraising so the inspirational statue of Cara can be completed. The cycling cap was worn by Lance at the Tour de France. Both items are encased in a custom framed shadow box and come with a statement and letters of authenticity. Cara was a medalist in both skiing and cycling before her untimely death from cancer in 2004. Mike hopes her statue will inspire for generations to come.
