January 16, 2006 — This coming weekend, January 20-22, 2006 eight Canadian track riders will be competing against 36 countries and over 200 athletes at the UCI Track Cycling World Cup in Los Angeles, California in the hope of qualifying for the upcoming World Track Championships, in Bordeaux, France, from April 13-16.

The eight Canadian athletes competing at the LA World Cup are:

– Mandy Poitras, British Columbia
– Gina Grain, British Columbia
– Martin Gilbert, Quebec
– Zach Bell, Alberta
– Travis Smith, Alberta
– Cam MacKinnon, Alberta
– Yannik Morin, Quebec
– Matt Barlee, British Columbia.
