Kona/IMBA Raise $9,000 for Trail Access

October 21, 2002 – The fifth annual Kona/IMBA Bowling Tournament Oct. 7 at Interbike raised $9,000 for the International Mountain Bicycling Association. The tourney, which has become an after-hours fixture at the world's leading bicycle trade show, attracted more than 300 bowlers to the Orleans Casino in Las Vegas. All 72 lanes were used. As always, the range of bowling attire was perhaps more impressive than the final scores.

Kona, an Above-and-Beyond IMBA corporate supporter, organized and rallied the event with their typical flair. Kona CEO Jake Heilbron, who was inducted into the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame the evening before, led his team into battle.

It was a party, a celebration of Interbike's final night, and a rally of more than 50 companies in support of IMBA's work to keep trails open for mountain bikers. This event has raised close to $40,000 for IMBA since '98.
