September 17, 2008 – After its 6th successful season, the Vancouver, BC based KONA-ADOBE Road Cycling team is getting the jump on 2009. BC is the place to be for Canadian road cycling and KONA-ADOBE will continue to be a highly visible part of this. We are looking for a few male riders who are serious about their sport to add to our solid team which includes current and past National champions. As well, we are looking to expand our marketing partner base so that we can do more to help our developing riders and get them to some larger races. Please forward to interested riders and to companies that could benefit from being involved with a community based team with a strong charitable aspect.
Our mission is to develop riders, teach them teamwork in a professionally run team environment while promoting the sport of cycling and our marketing partners. KONA-ADOBE is a stepping stone between a club or junior level program and a full professional team. We aim to develop skills on and off the bike to prepare riders who want to advance in the sport or aspire to become a professional cyclist. Our program offers product and some financial support, but more importantly, an environment focused on developing a riders ability to ride as part of a team.
If you or someone you know will be or want to be in or near the greater Vancouver area for the 2009 road race season, we would like to hear from you right away. You could be a cat 1/2 rider looking for a well run team that focuses on BC and Pacific Northwest racing or an espoir or junior rider that could benefit from our program.
Please forward rider applications and marketing partnership inquiries to email@example.com Check out our team web site at www.steamerracing.ca
KONA ADOBE Fort Langley CX Classic Nov 9 – Request for Prizes
Kona-Adobe is busy putting together our cyclocross race that will once again be a fund raiser for the MS Society and be part of the BC Cup CycloCross Series. Our race director, Basse Clement, has attached a request for support in Word. I have also attached our prior year event poster to give you a flavor of the race. It’s a great event and a fun family day as the race is hosted on a pumpkin farm. Although this year we got scheduled at the tail end of the pumpkin season, still loads of fun!
We are expecting to surpass the 100 participants we had last year and look forward to raising more funds for the MS Society. One way that we can do this is to increase the product prizes that we give away so that we have more net proceeds to donate to MS research. Please let me know if you can send us some product in support of our race. It could be samples or whatever. It does not have to be bicycle or cyclocross related.
All prizes can be shipped to my work address:
100-2155 Dollarton Hwy,
North Vancouver, BC, V7H 3B2
Please forward to anyone whom you think would be interested in helping us out. More event details will be forwarded as we draw closer to race day. Be sure to let me know if you would like to participate so that I can include you as an event partner on our race poster that we plaster around the city.
Thanks for your consideration.
