Position: Provincial Coordinator
Job Description: KidSportâ„¢ Ontario, a program of the Sport Alliance of Ontario, is currently seeking applications for the position of Provincial Coordinator at its provincial offices in North York. This is a 3-year contract.

Who Are We?

The Sport Alliance of Ontario is a private, non-profit sport management organization representative of provincial sport organizations, parks and recreation agencies, scholastic sports, and professional sport administrators in Ontario. KidSportâ„¢ Ontario is a children’s charitable program that helps kids overcome social and economic barriers which have limited or prevented their participation in organized sport. We accomplish this through the issuance of registration fee and/or equipment grants. KidSportâ„¢ Ontario is a provincial chapter of the National KidSportâ„¢ Fund, a fund that has helped over 50,000 kids participate in sport since 1993.

Position Summary: Provincial Coordinator

This position, reporting to the Provincial Manager, will be primarily responsible for the successful achievement and reporting of expected results for a 3-year Ontario Trillium Foundation grant, which is in collaboration with PROSeeds, a provincial charity supporting initiatives that enhance opportunities for Ontarians to participate in recreation, sport, parks and other leisure activities. As a secondary responsibility, the position will assist in the development and growth of the program.

Duties, Responsibilities and Related Tasks: – Servicing and developing local community chapters across Ontario. – Working with and adding new members to a team of provincial Athlete Ambassadors. – Building and managing a KidSport Ontario Advisory Board in association with program partners. – Timely processing and reporting of KidSport Ontario Official Sport Grants. – Prepare all reporting requirements identified in the Ontario Trillium Foundation grant. – Working with the webmaster to ensure site is up-to-date and relevant. – Managing and growing the KidSport Volunteer Team. – Event management and fundraising with community partners and sport groups. – New business development through the research, cultivation, sale and stewardship of sponsorships, major gifts, donations, grants, and community partnerships. – Organizing and managing an annual KidSport Ontario Local Chapter Network Forum. – Managing volunteer and part-time staff.

Required Skills and Competencies:

– Applicable University or College degree with a specialization in at least one of following disciplines: sport management, event planning, kinesiology, or fundraising. – Minimum of 2-3 years related experience including at least 1 year in the fundraising sector and/or in community outreach and development. – Strong and thorough written, oral, and presentation skills. – Proficient in computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). – Energetic, dedicated, enthusiastic and passionate attitude. – Creative thinker and team player.
