June 9, 2008 (Golden, BC) – Opening day for the KHMR Bike Park is Friday June 13th and to kick it off riders can take advantage of a great 2 for 1 lift ticket offer. With plenty of great additions to the Bike Park completed last fall this year’s opening day is one you do not want to miss.

“The trail building crew produced some great results towards the end of summer 2007,” states Bike Park Manager Mike Rubenstein. “With new trail additions like Stickrock, recent extensions to Super Berm and over 40 wooden features, every avid mountain biker needs to check out what we have been up to,” continues Rubenstein.

13 trails are set to open on Friday June 13th with the remaining alpine trails awaiting the last of the winter snow melt. All trails on the lower mountain (top of Pioneer) are in great shape and ready to ride.

On Friday June 13th mountain bikers can take advantage of a two for one lift ticket offer or purchase an early bird Bike Park Seasons Pass for $169.99. Early bird seasons passes will be on sale until Sunday June 15th with an additional 25% discount being offered for all members of the Golden Cycling Club.

The KHMR bike park will be open Friday, Saturday and Sundays from June 13th — 22nd, seven days a week from June 27th — Aug 31st and Friday, Saturday and Sundays from Sept 5th — Oct 12th (weather depending). The Golden Eagle Express Bike Park Hours of Operation are from 10:00am to 5:30pm (last ride up)

This summer the mountain bike park is also featuring an Alberta Cup Downhill race on July 12th & 13th and a Hi-Roller Ride on August 31st.
