Kevin MacCuish New BC Mountain Bike Manager

October 4, 2005 – Cycling BC is pleased to announce that Kevin MacCuish has accepted the position of “Mountain Bike Manager”. Kevin will officially begin in his new position on November 7, 2005.

MacCuish has left the position of Events Coordinator with the Alberta Cycling Association to join Cycling BC. His past cycling related experience includes Provincial Chief Commissaire/Technical Director for Bicycle Nova Scotia as well as serving as President of Bicycle Nova Scotia. Qualifications include Level 1 Cycling Coach (mtb & road), National Level Commissaire (MTB & BMX), Provincial Mountain Bike Commissaire Course Conductor, Provincial “A” Commissaire (Road & Track). MacCuish graduated with a Bachelor of Computer Science Degree from the Technical University of Nova Scotia in 1998.

VP MTB Henry Pejril states: “I’m delighted to welcome Kevin MacCuish to his new role as Mountain Bike Manager. Kevin has extensive experience and knowledge in the sport of cycling combined with credentials in both officiating and coaching. He brings the right skill set to help Cycling BC as we endeavor to fulfill our new mandates to improve our provincial strength in coaching, officiating and overall growth and strengthening of our race calendar”.

MacCuish replaces Gary Jackson who leaves us after serving for the past two years as the Mountain Bike Technical Director. In addition to his regular duties Gary was not afraid to take on extra responsibilities such as being instrumental in establishing the 4X series at Grouse Mountain and managing the Junior Development Team.

Cycling BC thanks Gary Jackson for his passionate contribution to cycling in British Columbia over the past two years and wishes him well in his future endeavors.
