JunkYard Dog Returns for XC BC Cup

March 25, 2016 (South Surrey, BC) – Daryl Evans Racing’s JunkYard Dog returns on April 24, as the second race of the 2016 XC BC Cup. Register online, now until April 22, to race against riders from across the province for series points. Don’t miss the JunkYard Dog, with beer, pizza and custom photo included! Just gets better each year! The JunkYard Dog was a decade favourite race on the BC Cup series and returns as the 2nd race of the 2016 BC XC Cup season.

The course has been extended by 1 km per lap, about 7 km total. 6 km of forest single track per lap, with log roll overs, the just completed 93 ft long Fender Bender bridge, Loop ‘n Chute, the Dive Rock Garden. the Dog Leg bridge, Over The Creek Plank, our Beer Belly bridge, Jayride A-frame, wood wall ride, drops . . . the list goes on! Fast and flowy with 3 pumptrack flow trails, Dy-no-mite Roll, Chainless and Jayride – and big smiles every lap.

The JunkYard Dog is more challenging and fun than ever before! All of the more challenging obstacles have an easy go around for those who don’t feel comfortable, with only a slight time penalty. Extended 1 km start and passing zone per lap.

Organizers reserve the right to amend the course, categories, amenities and schedule.

The Start

2 starts, with staggered starts for categories within each start time. 0900 for Junior and Citizens classes. 1130 start for 20+ to Elite.

Feed Stations

Self feeding, but you’ll be riding by the beer garden twice on every lap so no excuses for not hydrating!  (Beer Garden opens at 11, earlier if we can!)

Prizes

There will be cash prizes for Elite Men and Women as per BC Cup criteria; 1st place 5x entry, 2nd 4x entry, 3rd 3x entry, 4th 2x entry, 5th 1x entry.
Podium time for the 0900 race will be at 1200.  1130 race podium will be at approx 1330.

Swag, swag and more swag! Each registrant receives a swag raffle ticket. You must be present to win.

Beer included!

Each registrant of drinking age will recieve a ticket for 1 beer at the beer garden. But you’ll probably want an extra while you cheer your favourite racer as they ride by the beer garden twice per lap. Or perhaps they’ll need hydration.

Pizza included!

Each registrant will recieve a ticket for 1 Papa Murphy’s Pizza slice, prepared hot on site.

Registration

JunkYard Dog online registration http://www.BikeReg.com/junkyarddog.  All entries $55. U13-U17 $40.  Closes Friday, April 22, midnight.  Day of registration is available, but please register online – gets a little crazy on race day!

Cycling BC Rider License / Insurance

To race in all categories EXCEPT; Citizen, U13 or 20+, you will need a 2016 UCI License. For Citizen, U13 or 20+, you will need a 2016 Cycling BC Provincial (Citizen) Race License, or you can purchase a single event license for $10, $12 for US residents. U13 for $5.

All riders must present their 2016 license or proof of purchase/email at the event.

Single event licenses are only valid for Canadian residents covered under a Federal or Provincial Hospital or Medical Plan.

US Residents must have a 2016 UCI License and sign a declaration that adequate out of country travel insurance has been obtained. If you meet these requirements, you do not need to purchase a single event license.

Day license purchasers under 19 MUST have a parent or guardian sign the Cycling BC release at registration in order to participate.

XC BC Cup Series

This race is part of the 2016 XC BC Cup Series, which features six of BC’s top mountain bike races.

Points are calculated from the results of each race and then riders are ranked in the series standings. To qualify for a final series standing, riders must participate in a minimum of three races, plus the series final on August 12th. Final series standings will be calculated from the best 3 out of the first 5 races, plus finals. Overall series winners will be presented with their award at the BC Cup Finals on August 12th in Whistler.
