Through the ESTEEM Team athlete role model and goal setting program, helping youth to understand the importance of goal setting and active living, to Youth ACTIVATORs combining their talent and energies at the community level to make the community a better place for all young people, to GEN7 Messengers in Aboriginal communities working with youth and adults to make positive change through sport and physical activity, to the ACTIVE CIRCLE supporting Aboriginal youth and communities to develop long- term sport and recreation programs, Motivate Canada works to foster healthy, active and engaged youth.

Motivate Canada is recruiting a Program Coordinator for the Make It Happen Program, a program that connects Elite Athletes to act as Ambassadors to provide High School Students across the Golden Greater Horseshoe region with motivational, inspirational speaking and goal setting related to making positive healthy life choices. We are looking for someone who is energetic, well organized and enthusiastic about the ‘potential of youth’. The qualified candidate must be a strong communicator with the ability to multi-task various responsibilities as they relate to the promotion, implementation, administration and evaluation of the Make It Happen program.

Position: Make It Happen Program Coordinator

Reports Directly to: The Ontario Manager

Knowledge and Skills:
– Technically inclined is a necessity – Experience with various computer/communications software (MS Office) a must. Preference will be given to those with database management skills & programming (GoldMine or Red Horse)
– Sales & Marketing experience to promote programs to schools and youth groups
– Initiative and proven capacity to work in a self-directed manner as well as demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively with external stakeholders, staff, partners & educators;
– Flexibility and ability to adapt quickly in a fast paced environment
– Sense of humour and positive attitude
– Passion for the development of young people and having a direct impact on their lives through life skills programming
– Understanding of sport, recreation and healthy living is an asset

Qualifications:
– University degree or post-secondary diploma or equivalent combination of education and direct related experience working in life skills programs with youth; sports administration and/or communications
– 2-years experience in an administrative and sales related roles
– Demonstrated knowledge and experience in website management, social media utilization, database management
– Excellent oral and written communication skills
– Must have excellent computer skills: CMS website systems, Microsoft environment, Database Management (Goldmine and/or Red Horse software) with ability to adapt and learn new software
– Bilingual in French & English is a strong asset

Type of position: Full-time 9 months (potential for extension)
Location: Regional Office – Toronto
Salary Range: $32,500 (pro-rated) plus benefits
