June 02, 2016 – The International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) Canada seeks a passionate, inspirational and committed Executive Director to live and lead the organization’s important mission, beginning July 2016.

As the chosen candidate, you are an energetic and entrepreneurial leader with a desire to strengthen and grow the Canadian mountain bike community, a genuine interest in working with diverse stakeholder groups, a passion for trails and the environment, and a proven capacity for inspiring others to embrace these commitments. Public speaking, community engagement, fundraising and fostering partnerships are areas of strength for you, along with your solid experience in people management and administration. You are a confident leader, with a proven background in both strategic and business planning and oversight.

Your integrity is aligned with IMBA Canada’s core values and you are comfortable in your ability to engage others in the mission. You are a communicator, and can connect with people of diverse perspectives, ideally in both English and French. Your education and experience have led you to consider a role like this.

The Role

As Executive Director of IMBA Canada, you bring vision and leadership to an evolving organization, and you assume responsibility for all aspects of the association’s operation. You will spend your days in the leadership, management, and administration of the organization and its programs — with assistance from staff and oversight from IMBA Canada’s Board of Directors. You will ensure that the finances are well managed, and take responsibility for setting and maintaining an annual budget. The organization’s property and resources will be well maintained under your careful stewardship.

As the public face of IMBA Canada, you will connect with affiliated clubs, stakeholders and constituents, and other IMBA organizations around the world — as well as lead all communications, marketing and development efforts for the national body. You are committed to guiding and inspiring the mountain bike movement within Canada, by offering direction to your staff, fellow mountain bikers, partners, and supporters; and to representing the Canadian mountain bike community to government, land management agencies, and other trail user groups.

The Mission

The International Mountain Bicycling Association (Canada) is a non?profit association whose mission is to ensure Canada is home to a strong and vibrant mountain bike community, riding a world-class network of mountain bike trails. Affiliated with like-minded IMBA organizations around the world, IMBA Canada strives to bring out the best in mountain biking by encouraging low-impact riding, volunteer trail work participation, cooperation among different trail user groups, grassroots advocacy and innovative trail management solutions. Our core values: Speak, Build, Respect, and Ride represent the call to action for IMBA Canada affiliated clubs nationwide.
