Position Status: Full Time/Year Round/Salary

Duties
• To develop festival’ communications plan
• Work with other festival communication teams to execute the overall Crankworx message and story telling
• To integrate CEI and Whistler Blackcomb communications into other Crankworx World Tour Festivals
• To manage the development of the communications schedule.
• To develop, manage and implement the social media strategy for all 3 Crankworx Festivals, Whistler’s Great Outdoors Festival, and other CEI festivals and events
• To integrate sponsors, partners and various stakeholders messaging into Crankworx Communication Channels
• To develop and foster relationships with key endemic and non-endemic media
• To create and maintain relationships with key endemic influencers with a view towards maintaining the event’s relevancy in the industry.
• To oversee and implement event marketing activities to approved budget including:
– Creating and managing the promotional plan and budget for the Event.
– Securing media partnerships based on approved budgets.
– Integration of Event marketing plan with the event communication plans of the Company.
– Manage all Event copywriting, creative, collateral materials, tag lines, slogans, boilerplates in print, digital and radio for the event.
– Proofing and editing all communication pieces
– Develop and execute media partner contests and on-site media activities.
– Manage updates on the CEI websites
• To develop the Crankworx content distribution strategy with a focus on increasing external impressions of Crankworx content.
• Follow up, coordination of any interviews and any work resulting in public relations activities to fulfill media requests
• Work with the WB PR team, guiding the WB PR person/intern on the development and execution of the successful operation on the media centre/accreditation process
• Development and delivery of individual pitches to media identified as targets
• Coordination of press trips to Vancouver for regional promotion of CEI festivals through broadcast and radio
• Ongoing industry partner (CTC, TBC, TW, major hotels) communication and education regarding Crankworx
• Assist, as required, issues management and crisis communication

Qualifications:
• Significant (5+ years) PR and Communications experience
• Event/Festival and/or Sport Event Experience
• Management of a Team Experience
• Highly competent writing and storytelling skills
• Leading edge Social Media Knowledge
• Ability to manage and report on budgets.
• Understanding of the Whistler Blackcomb summer business.
• Understanding of the Mountain Bike Industry.
• Communications and/or PR Management education required.
• Read/Write/Speak French a big asset.
• Willingness to Travel
