February 15, 2007 – Position: Fundraising and Marketing Consultant

Job Description: The Commonwealth Games Foundation of Canada is seeking professional services to execute the priorities of the Commonwealth Games Foundation of Canada.

The role will require a consultant with the availability to commit three days per week. The initial timeframe is for one year, with the possibility of annual renewals. The time commitment could potentially increase closer to the XIX Commonwealth Games to be held in Delhi India in 2010.

Reporting to the Foundation President and Board of Directors, the consultant will be responsible for strategically driving our alliance relationships across the country with sponsors and partners, utilizing outstanding business development, program management, marketing, sales and relationship skills. In addition, the consultant will apply a balance of personal and public relations skills and business industry acumen.

Deliverables will include:

Develop and execute business goals with assigned sponsors/ partners that align to key strategies of the Foundation

Attain quadrennial fundraising goals

Develop and manage budgets and financial targets

Develop and maintain sponsorship database

Create sponsorship materials with associated rights and benefits

Service existing sponsors/partners

Seek out new sponsors/partners

Administrative management of Board of Directors’ meetings, Annual General Meetings and other Foundation functions

Ensure professional standard for Foundation events with regard to signage, badges, documentation and program scenarios

Provide regular reports

Qualifications:

Proven track record of at least 5 years experience working in public relations, fundraising and communications field. Must be a motivated self-starter with excellent oral and written communication skills. Must have excellent interpersonal skills. A university degree and/or college diploma as well as the ability to communicate in both official languages would be an asset.

The successful consultant will be required to provide their own office space and equipment and must be available to attend meetings at the National Office of Commonwealth Games Canada in Ottawa.

Position: Financial Assistant

Job Description:

Commonwealth Games Canada is currently seeking an outstanding candidate for the position of Financial Assistant, located in Ottawa, to provide financial administration support to the organization as a whole. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Financial Assistant is responsible for all bookkeeping and accounting activities. This is a 6 month contract position for 2 — 3 days per week with the possibility of renewal.

Required skills, experience and education:

-Proven ability to manage multiple projects, with attention to detail and compliance with timelines;

-Minimum 3 years experience in bookkeeping and accounting field

-Proven organizational skills;

-Extensive experience working with MS Office programs and Simply Accounting

-Minimum undergraduate degree or acceptable combination of education and related experience;

-Superior written and verbal communication skills;

-Proficiency in English; ability to work in French will be considered an asset;
