Position: Coach Education Manager

Job Description:
The Coach Education Manager will manage resources associated with the contract to deliver the multi-sport modules of the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) in Ontario. This role will be an integral part of the CAO’s management team, focused on supporting Ontario’s coaching development strategy.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Reporting to the Executive Director the, Coach Education Manager will: “¢Direct day-to-day administration of coach education programs, specifically the delivery of the multi-sport modules of the NCCP across Ontario. This includes directing the work of administrative staff and involvement of independent contractors or service suppliers. “¢Lead the development of ongoing public communication for coaches and the sport community for the effective promotion of education opportunities for coaches across the province of Ontario as well as responding to public queries. “¢Negotiate and oversee program agreement development with all service suppliers, host agencies and education resources (experts, certified Learning Facilitators, resource professionals) relating to education programs on behalf of the CAO. “¢Assist in planning, problem solving, and implementing performance measurement tools relating to education program delivery to assess its ongoing efficiency and effectiveness. “¢Establish program priorities and provide regular reports to Board members, education partner organizations, funders and members on coach education program achievements, activities and make recommendations on program delivery on behalf of the association. “¢Represent CAO at meetings and on committees and act as a liaison with and between provincial sport organizations, education partners, and government, national or other multi-sport organizations. “¢Budget, monitor and report performance and financial information relating to NCCP program delivery within an established statistical and accounting framework. “¢Ensure effective linkages with other CAO programs, such as membership, community development and marketing to increase education program participation. “¢Participate as an active contributor on CAO Board committees, and actively support implementation of annual business and strategic plans. “¢Maintain knowledge of the CAO’s administrative policies and procedures.


QUALIFICATIONS
-University Degree in education, teaching, coaching, business administration, and related employment experience. ? Demonstrated experience (minimum five years or more) in a program management or leadership role.
-Thorough conceptual knowledge of adult education principles, and competency development models. A background in administration of certification programs, standards for teaching, continuing education would be considered an asset.
-In-depth knowledge of coaching and the Canadian sport system. Preference will be given to those with coaching experience and a high level of certification in the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP). – Excellent oral and written communication skills.
-Knowledge working with budgets, financial tracking and reporting. ? Proven ability as a lead person delivering a program and experience working with Committees, volunteers and expert resources.
-Demonstrated analytical and organization skills as well as a flexible team leader with a strong customer service orientation.
-Must have competent business office computer skills and proficiency.
-Must be a proven team player.
-Preference will be given to bilingual candidates (English and French)

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: Eligible to work in Canada at the CAO’s Toronto-based office. Available to work on a dedicated basis, Monday to Friday. HOURS OF WORK: This position requires a dedicated commitment (37.5 hours per week) with flexibility for occasional travel in different parts of Canada and availability with notice to attend weekend or weeknight meetings.

Salary Range: The salary range will be based on relevant employment history and educational qualifications. A benefits package is also part of the compensation package.
