In front of a sold out crowd, Brown easily qualified for the semi-finals by finishing in third place of his qualifying rounds heat. In the semi-finals, Brown finished second of his heat to get his ticket for the ultimate race of the day for the Pan-American titles and medals.
“The day started out tough. I had a last place in the first moto, but came back and got a couple of Top3 spots in the next couple of motos. I got through the semi where I got a second. I am pretty happy with the eight place,” said Brown, the 2010 Canadian Champion and second at the 2011 Championships. “The track was good today. It took a while to get used to in training, but it rode really well in the race.
“The Pan Am Games have been awesome. Representing Canada has been great, and riding the track was a lot of fun. My family was here today. I got to see them in the crowd and gave them a wave when I was up in the gate. It’s good to have them cheering,” continued Brown.
The cycling events continue tomorrow at the Pan Am games with the presentation of the road races, for both the men and the women.
