October 23, 2014 (Vancouver, BC) – Recently Cycling BC Executive hosted a successful fundraising dinner and gala at the Vancouver Convention Centre featuring some of the sport’s biggest stars and supporters in the province in attendance. Joining the festivities were Haywood Securities Bernard Leroux, NHL star Trevor Linden, Axel Merckx of former ProTour cycling fame and Alex Stieda of yellow jersey fame. The evening also featured some of Canada’s best riders, including two-time MTB World Champ Catharine Pendrel, Olympic Bronze Medalists Laura Brown and Jasmin Glaesser, as well as former Omnium World Champ Tara Whitten, along with some of the province’s young up-and-comers. The Evening of Champions raised $120,000 for youth cycling development in BC and we chatted with several riders for their take on the evening… lots of photos here.
