February 05, 2013 (Louisville, Kentucky) – The condensed schedule of this past weekend’s 2013 UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships left many riders stranded in Louisville for an extra day. Canada’s Geoff Kabush took the opportunity to organize a Canada vs. The World game of shinny at a local rink. Much to the amusement of the local youth hockey league, Kabush and fellow Canadian team members Craig Richey, Wendy Simms and Mike Van den Ham took on riders from the European ‘cross teams. The sticks were supplied by Canadian fans Kabush had spotted waving flags attached to hockey sticks during the race. The rosters were filled out by the team mechanics and other support people including some who had never donned skates before.
