June 4, 2008 – Inaugural Tour de Québec is scheduled for September 4-7, 2008 in Quebec city region. Over four days, the senior men will ride the distance of 400km – 1 prologue and four stages – other categories will compete over two days from September 6-7.
The Tour will start in downtown Quebec City where two riders will face each other over a 250m sprint on Rue St-Jean toward Place D’Youville. The first stage, will take to the roads of the Portneuf Region, where riders will have at least 2-3 KOM. The next day, the riders will put on a show with a morning and an evening criterium. The morning program will feature a criterium in front of the Quebec parliament and the evening crit is in Levis. The last stage will be a difficult circuit of 11km which the riders will have to do 13 times.
