release by Sun Cycle

June 8, 2011 (Saskatoon, SK) – The inaugural Sun Cycle – Saskatoon’s Cycling Festival – will be taking place on Sunday, June 12th, from 12-4pm at the Farmer’s Market. Hosted by Saskatoon Cycles, the Sun Cycle is a celebration of all things cycling in Saskatoon. The event is supported by a wide range of local businesses, organizations, and groups.

A wide range of interactive activities will be taking place throughout the afternoon for those from 8 to 80. Events include: a cycling safety course sponsored by the Saskatoon Police Service, bike repair stations by a number of local bike shops, the debut of the City of Saskatoon Cycling Map, a decorate your bike station sponsored by the Children’s Discovery Museum, and live bands presented by Vive Music. For details on all of the events included in the Sun Cycle please visit our website HERE.

The Sun Cycle organizers would like to point out that the festival, while on the same day as the Bridge City Boogie, will not directly interfere with the race that takes place in the morning.

“We are excited about the wide range of cycling activities available for the first ever Sun Cycle”, says Sean Shaw, lead organizer of Sun Cycle. “We invite all Saskatoonian’s to head down to the Farmer’s Market on Sunday afternoon, rain or shine. Admission is free, and there is something to do for people of all ages!”
