February 21, 2006 – Dahon, the world leader in folding bicycles, today launched its inaugural 2006 Photography Competition. With its long history of working with numerous talented and creative photographers, this competition provides an opportunity for amateurs and professionals alike to win some great prizes and have their work used in Dahon marketing campaigns.
“The theme of this years competition is biking and lifestyle. This can be anything from commuting to work; shooting down your favorite singletrack or you and your buddies enjoying a post ride brew” commented VP of Sales and Marketing, Josh Hon. “With US$4,000 worth of swag to be won, it’s a great looking competition and something we are incredibly excited to be doing.”
Chris Hess, Dahon Marketing Manager further added, “Over the years we have received hundreds of images from Dahon owners and enthusiasts wanting to share with us their love of our bikes. This competition is kind of a big thankyou to all our supporters and offers everyone a great chance to have their art used in Dahon marketing and also to win cool gear. There are also monthly prizes, so there is great incentive to keep on shooting and sending us your snaps!”
First prize is a customized and unique, one-off Dahon bike valued at US$2,500. The winner will be able choose custom paint, parts, fenders, racks, wheels, and tires.
Second prize is a Dahon bike to the value of US$1,500 and third prize includes a Dahon El Bolso carry bag plus a Dahon team jersey (US$150+).
There will also be a Photo of the Month prize, with monthly winners receiving a Dahon Messenger Bag (US$100). These monthly winners will make up the finalists list.
The Dahon Photography Competition runs from February 21 until June 30 and is open to entrants from all around the world.
