October 01, 2015 –  Clear your calendar for a few hours this Saturday, October 3, 2015 to take part in IMBA Canada’s Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day! Clubs, bike shops, national parks, youth groups and families will be hosting events across Canada as part of the twelfth annual international celebration.

Developed and coordinated by the International Mountain Bicycling Association, Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day (TAKMBD) officially takes place on the first Saturday of every October but events can be hosted at any time of the year. This year, more than 1,500 Canadian kids will hit the trails at one of 37 registered events.

You can find an event near you using IMBA Canada’s interactive map and calendar of events, or simply invite a kid to join you at your local trails or bike park. Informal or formal, one child or 100 children, TAKMBD celebrates the joy of riding in the dirt.

Help us share the excitement by posting your photos on IMBA Canada’s Facebook page or your own Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram pages and tag @IMBACanada and #TAKMBD. Share stories and photos about your day with parents, community leaders, local press and IMBA Canada. Tell the world how you plan to take a kid mountain biking!

TAKMBD web pages are now available in French as well as English, thanks to partner organization Vélo Québec. Visit imbacanada.com/kids, to access our online resources, and to find out how you can get involved.

The 2015 Canadian TAKMBD program is made possible through generous support from presenting sponsor MEC, and through ongoing partnerships with Parks Canada, Ontario Parks, and Vélo Québec.
