“It is a great sign of that the team has confidence in me. It was natural that I extend my contract. Over the past three seasons, I have integrated well into the team despite how they still make fun of my (Quebec) accent,” he continued.

Houle, who turns 25 this month, completed the 2015 Giro d’Italia and claimed the Canadian senior men’s ITT title for the first time this year. He also won ITT gold at the 2015 Pan Am Games in Toronto. Formerly a rider with the now defunct SpiderTech team, Houle began riding for AG2R in 2013.

The accomplished pro also writes that he eventually wants to compete at the Tour de France and at the Olympic Games.
