June 2, 2003 – Hello Pedal…the bid book has been released (May 30th) for Hamilton's 2010 Commonwealth Games bid.  After a  vigorous letter writing campaign from the cycling community, the committee has revised its original bid to include bicycle track racing.  The plans now call for a temporary outdoor velodrome to be located at the Morgan Firestone Sport Centre in Ancaster, Ontario. If this is indeed a temporary facility, this seems a shabby way to treat a sport that has brought a world championships to the city and at the same time has realized not one penny of legacy from this professional promotion.
