May 11, 2013 (St. Catharines, Ontario) – The Big Move Cancer Ride, a non-competitive cycling event, and GranFondo Niagara Falls, a new mass-participation timed cycling event have announced an exciting partnership to promote cycling and raise funds for a very meaningful cause in the region.
The Big Move Cancer Ride takes place on September 8th, starting and finishing in St. Catharines, Ontario. The inaugural GranFondo Niagara Falls takes place on September 14th, starting and finishing in Niagara Falls, Ontario. The two rides will offer cycling enthusiasts two great opportunities to ride in Niagara this September and two great ways to support the Walker Family Cancer Centre.
The Big Move Cancer Ride will enter a team in the GranFondo Niagara Falls inaugural event with a focus on fundraising for the Walker Family Cancer Centre. Every GranFondo Niagara Falls entry that is purchased by participants of The Big Move Cancer Ride guarantees a $100 donation to the Walker Family Cancer Centre.
“It is very meaningful to be able to partner with the Big Move Cancer Ride and will allow us to connect and contribute to this important regional cancer facility in Niagara,” said Kevin Thomson, President of GranFondo Canada, organizer of the GranFondo Niagara Falls.
“The cycling community has been tremendously supportive of our event since we introduced The Big Move in 2009,” said Kristina Manzi, Director Marketing & Events, St Catharines General Hospital Foundation. “We’re very pleased to be able to increase awareness and raise the needed funds for our Cancer Centre through the generosity of cyclists and their supporters in Niagara.”
