W Podium DSCN0623.2

April 23, 2014 (Contrecoeur, QC) – Team SAS-Mazda powered by Specialized Macogep scored the top two podium spots in the 67km senior women’s race of the GP Contrecoeur on the weekend, courtesy of a two-woman breakaway. The squad’s Kirsti Lay finished nearly one minute up on second place teammate Adriane Provost. Marie-Soleil Blais (Realdeal Gears) won the bunch sprint for third. The win earned the SAS-Mazda squad the Montérégie jersey, which they aim to defend at upcoming events in Sainte-Martine and Brossard.

The 107.2km senior 1/2 men’s competition saw unattached rider Yohan Patry (Independent) power to victory in a pack sprint, besting second place, Mathieu Charruau (Trek-Fiera), and third place, Olivier Brisebois (La Vie Sportive Apogee p/p Opus), at the line. View full results, all categories here.
