Giro d’Italia Stage 20

May 31, 2003 – A Zebra-striped rider won today, but it wasn't Cippolini. Normally riding in faithful service for his captain World Champion Mario Cipollini, Domina Vacanze's Giovanni Lombardi finally got a chance to win today in the penultimate stage of the Giro. Lombardi bested Eddy Mazzoleni (Vini Caldirola) and Giuliano Figueras (Panaria) in today's final road stage. Tomorrow sees the Giro end in a non-traditional 33k Individual Time Trial.
