May 19, 2016 (Bibione, ITA) – André Greipel (Ger) Lotto Soudal grabbed his third stage victory on Stage 12 from Noale to Bibione, 182 km, with perfectly timed lead out and sprint to the line as he held his ground against Caleb Ewan (Aus) Orica-GreenEdge who tried to pass him on the inside but settled for second with Giacomo Nizzolo (Ita) Trek-Segafredo third. Canada’s Hugo Houle (Can) AG2R La Mondiale finished 56th while Ryder Hesjedal (Trek-Segafredo) was 66th and remains 13th overall.
