Giro D’Italia Heads Into Final Week

May 27, 2002. (Numana, IT) The Tour Of Italy heads into its final week,
after a rest day today. After a stunning time trial victory, Tyler
Hamilton (CSC-Tiscali), Lance Armstrong’s former right-hand-man at USPS is
in a perfect position to take his first ever Grand Tour. Former mountain
biker Cadel Evans has surpassed all expectations, and finds himself in 2nd
overall, less than a minute down.

Veteran, 37 year old Jens Heppner is
still in pink, but with a few more mountain stages left, the real battle
wiil likely leave him behind.
