Get Shooting! – Kona Shoot the Ride Photo Contest

release by Kona Bikes

February 21, 2009 – Back by popular demand, Kona’s Shoot the Ride Photo Contest returns for its second year. If you’re a Kona fan, or a bike fanatic in general, submit your best amateur photographs and we’ll put them through the Kona ringer to see if they’ve got what it takes to emerge victorious.

The contest parameters are pretty loose. Beauty shot, some sort of bike connection, however distant or obvious, and that’s it. Friends on bikes, friends riding bikes, non-friends that maybe one day could be friends hanging out at the coffee shop with bikes in the background… beside friends. Get the picture?

Send tightly edited digital submissions to: photos@konaworld.com and we’ll get back to you after the discerning eyes of the Kona staff wrangle and wrestle to determine the top three. First place receives a $500 credit at the Kona USA webstore, second, a $150 credit and third, a $50 credit. Winners will be announced in May 2009 and all of the finalists will be posted on Konaworld.com for the entire world to see. Get shooting!

But hold on, scoop. The top three photographs will be used in the Kona mega marketing machine, paving your way to international recognition. That’s right, reams of fame, incredible popularity and immense self-gratification, just for sending in a sweet pic.

All submissions should list the photographer’s full name, email address, country and city of residence and daytime phone number. You’re a pro now. Deal with it.

All photos submitted must be originals. The photos can be color, black and white, sepia tone, you name it. All submissions should be sent in jpeg format at 72 dpi. Contest winner and runners up will be required to submit hi-res print-ready files, in formats to be determined, sized no larger than 11″ x 17″ at 300 dpi resolution. The other good news? Unlike a lot of photo contest out there, this is not a rights grab, even though Kona will use your photos, you can too. Dowhatchalike sparky!
