General Paint Creates “Tour of Courage” Yellow

September 6, 2007 (Vancouver, B.C.) – B.C. residents will be able to “paint the town yellow” as the 34 General Paint stores in B.C. mix up a limited edition shade of yellow paint and encourage recreational cyclists aged 12 and up to sign up for the BC Cancer Foundation Tour of Courage Community Ride, featuring Lance Armstrong, Axel Merckx, Steve Bauer, Phil Liggett and friends in Vancouver on Sunday, September 23.

The Tour of Courage Community Ride starts at UBC and rolls through the streets of Vancouver and surrounding communities. Participants must pre-register and can choose to ride a 30, 60 or 90 km route. Each adult participant raises at least $1000 to enter. Younger participants (age 12-17) must raise at least $200. In addition, the event begins with a motivational program featuring Lance Armstrong.

General Paint’s new limited edition “Tour of Courage” yellow paint will be available at all BC locations from now until September 23.

Along with the “Tour of Courage” paint, General Paint stores will also help the fundraising effort by collecting donations of a “Toonie for the Tour”. All people who donate can enter to win one of 30 copies of the book “Lance Armstrong — Images of a Champion.”
