Future Champions Development Camp Day 3

report by Cycling BC Riders

August 13, 2010 – We were awoken to the delicious aroma of cinnamon buns and coffee, what a great way to start the day. The group set out around nine, we first descended to the town of Warfield where we continued on highway three, descending and climbing towards Castlegar.

After leaving Castlegar, famous Eddie Reid punctured for a third time leaving everyone time to remove vests, arm-warmers and to grab something to eat. Our group continued onto the long ascent up to Nancy Greene pass; a climb which was long, but of steady gradient. The pace was quite hard to the point that we split into 2 groups.

We regrouped as normal before starting the climb up Nancy Greene Pass, but the pace soon picked up and riders were all over by the top. At the top of the pass, 6’1”, 135 lbs. Coulter Young was the fastest, followed by Rothengatter, Ellsay tailed by a group of 3 riders strong riders.
The group came together and descended in an orderly fashion back to the Ram’s Head Inn, where we had a great dinner followed by a dessert of watermelons.

From all at the camp we would like to thank the sponsors and coaches for making the wonderful camp happen. THANK YOU!

Cheers,

Nigel and Henri (De Boever de la France)
