June 28, 2011 – (Fernie, BC) – The town of Fernie has played host to many mountain bike stage races in the past, either as the start or the finish site. It is safe to say that anyone who has participated in one of these events always leaves Fernie wanting more. Well, the opportunity for some seconds (and thirds!) has finally presented itself – enter the Furious 3 Mountain Bike Stage Race. The Furious 3 is a three-day mountain bike stage race where all stages start and finishe in the town of Fernie.

This event is golden for a couple of reasons. The riding is top drawer and three days of racing is ideal for those competitors who can’t commit to a 7-day event (the current industry standard for MTB stage races). The event is run by locals who know the trails, and a community that loves mountain biking. This event gathered a lot of momentum early and eventually sold-out, even after more entry spaces were added. Rumour has it that the wait list has grown to 200 people deep. Not bad for an event that has never been held before!

Once again, Mike [Sarnecki] & Mike [Blennerhassett] of Team Pedal have joined together to ride this epic inaugural edition of the Furious 3 MTB Race.
