Forest City Velodrome March Madness – Day 1

March 29, 2008 (London, ON) – London’s Scott Lundy was the big powerhouse on day one at the Forest City Velodrome’s March Madness. Lundy opened up the sprint qualifications with the fastest time and then followed that up by winning his heats right up to the final when he was nipped by the wily master Lorne Falkenstein. Lundy then teamed up with young John Carden of Paris to take a one lap lead on the rest of the field in the ‘A’ team Madison competition.

The ‘B’ Madison has the New Jersey team of Joe Brennan and Rob Kowal on top. All teams are on even laps. The ladies team of Amy Biskaborn and Lisa Perlmutter, both of whom rode the sprint tournament as well as the Madison, rode a fantastic race giving the others all they could handle and ended up in third place only four points off the lead. Racing continues tonight at 7pm and an expanded coverage of the entire 2-day event will be provided by Rob Good after the completion of events.
