August 19, 2007 (London, ON) — Here’s the latest news for fall from the Forest City Velodrome regarding membership, donations, the Western Fair, racing updates and more.
Special Membership Trackster
September is the start of the 2008 Riding Season at the Forest City Velodrome. Memberships and donations keep the Velodrome open and provide many of the programs that take place at the track.
Since we started the Velodrome Project, 235 riders have taken out a membership at the FCV. This is an outstanding number for us and we are hoping to continue this growth in 2008.
We would like the many riders that have not ridden in a year to come back and participate in the new programs that have been introduced in the last 18 months.
Membership fees will stay the same for the 2007-2008 Season.
– Adult Members $375.00
– Student Members $250.00
– Saturday Velo-Kids $100.00
– Family Membership add $100.00
Go to the website for more information www.ForestCityVelodrome.ca and download the new membership form, or use the current form on the website.
Individuals/Companies wishing to make a donation of $1,000 will receive a tax receipt and 4 Free Saturday Race Night Passes and a Family Membership.
Non cyclists that would like to support the FCV — for a donation of $100.00 or more, please note we can issue tax receipts for this type of donation. The FCV will also send out 4 Free Saturday Race Night Admission Passes to say thank you.
Come Back Riders
Riders who let their membership lapse during 2006 & 2007, we encourage you to come back to the FCV and renew your membership.
Hurry and renew your membership today!
Stay tuned — the new expanded Fall & Winter Schedule will be out shortly. If you have any suggestions, please email info@ForestCityVelodrome.ca.
Get Well Soon
A Special Get Well Wish is extended to our Velodrome Member & Volunteer Dave Bee who recently had surgery. Here’s to a speedy recovery Dave. Our thoughts are with you and we hope to see you soon.
Please be sure to drop by the FCV Booth at the Western Fair which runs Friday, September 7 through Sunday, September 16th. Come by and pick up your free Race Night Pass.
Craig Lave is coordinating the coverage of the booth to get maximum exposure for the FCV during the 10 Days of the Fair. Over 200,000 people attend the fair each year and it will be a great opportunity to attract kids, spectators and recreational riders to the Velodrome.
If you can volunteer to help promote the Velodrome at the fair. If you can help out even for a couple of hours, send an email to, firstname.lastname@example.org or call Craig at 519-666-2377.
Thanks Craig, for putting this together.
