Forest City Velodrome 6-Day Report

February 3, 2006 – Night 4 is in the books with another very hard evening of bicycle racing at the Indoor Velodrome in London Ontario. With a week separating the two weekends of racing, riders spent all week recovering for what turned out to be a sprinter’s dream night on the boards tonight.

The eveming was split into three sessions of Madison Team racing, with each session being 30 minutes of painful fun.

The racing was close and competitive with the London Team of Dave St. James & Dave Byer being the most aggressive duo of the night. All of their hard work was for not as a late spill knocked the team out of contention for the win.

The two teams that dominated the night were the Delhi & Brantford pairings as both teams battled it out right until the final Sprint for double points to close out the evening’s racing. Team Delhi with Mike Renneboog and Keith Thorarison took the win, with Brantford a very close 2nd.

The Teams of Waterloo & Burlington finished 1 point apart with Waterloo taking 3rd on the night.

There are two more evenings of racing to go with Brantford leading the standings and Delhi, Burlington, Waterloo and London follow in that order with less than three points separating the top three teams.

The racing continues on Saturday night at 7pm and the 6-Day Bike race concludes with the final day of racing on Sunday afternoon at 2 pm.

All of the on-the-edge-of-your-seat action is taking place at the London Gardens just off of Wellington Rd. S. in London, ON.

Admission for the final two days is $5 for Adults, Children are FREE.

If you have never seen bicycle racing up close, plan to attend the last two days of the Forest City Velodrome’s 6-day racing.
