Fire Destroys Gerick Cycle in Kelowna, B.C.

March 12, 2008 (Kelowna, B.C.) – Fire crews were called to Northgate Plaza in Kelowna, B.C. at around 2:30 a.m. on Monday, where Gerick Cycle, a liquor store, and a weight-loss office were ablaze. According to Kelowna Capital News, fire officials identified that pallets outside the back door of the bike shop had been the fire’s fuel, but the lack of heat source in that area, and further investigation, caused investigators to rule the cause as suspicious.

This is the second case of a bike shop being devastated by fire in less than a month, after Duke’s Cycle in Toronto was ravaged by a blaze on March 10.
