FCV 800-Lap ride for MS Awareness and VeloKids

February 13, 2006 – On Feb. 12th we had 14 track riders show up at the Forest City Velodrome, for the 3-hour trek to nowhere… just around in circles 800 times.

The event was put on by the Cycle4MS Racing Team and hosted by Rob Good and the Forest City Velodrome. The ride was long and tough at times. The average speed was 35kph for three hours. With no terrain changes, the shoulders and back got sore, and the legs were burning at times. We all soldiered on and had a great time. The Cycle4MS racing team was riding their stationary trainers on the infield for over two hours in support.

After all the pledges and draw prize tickets were collected, we raised just over $2,000. The proceeds from the event will be split between the Forest City VeloKids program (www.Forestcityvelodrome.ca) and Cycle4MS. Cycle4MS is donating all of their proceeds to the Halton Chapter of the MS Society.
