September 12, 2007 – The racing calendar has been set, and it will be an action packed season at the Burnaby Velodrome this year! Beginning in mid-October, the inaugural Friday Night Race Series will get up and going. Racing will start at 7pm most Friday nights and the series will run from October through March. This racing is a steal of a deal, with entry at $6 per night. A more detailed schedule will be posted on the Burnaby Velodrome website soon. Stay tuned!

The first of two Burnaby Velodrome Challenges will be held November 9 through November 11. Featuring both endurance and sprint races, this event has become a mainstay of the BVC calendar. Last year, almost 80 riders attended this event, which offered novice through elite riders the chance to ‘duke it out under the dome’. Billeting and some rider support can be arranged to racers that come from out of town. More details soon.

The biggest event of the calendar, the BVC Six Day, is going to be the perfect way to kick off the New Year! Scheduled to start on either Dec 31st or January 1st, the Six Day will offer something for everyone, from new and novice riders to elite and pro riders. Last year, almost 100 riders raced in the Six Day, and we expect even more this year! Check out last years pictures and race schedule for a taste of things to come, and stay tuned to the website for registration information. Billeting and some rider support can be arranged to racers that come from out of town, so if you’re interested in the Six Day experience, let us know!

The second Burnaby Velodrome Challenge will wrap up the season, and is currently being planned for either April or May, 2008. More information will be available soon.
