April 01, 2016 (Toronto, ON) – Famed hockey announcer Don Cherry, known for his brash commentary and loud designer suits, has announced he will be backing a new Canadian professional road cycling squad and will act as its manager. His goal for the team, for which the roster and supporting sponsors are yet to be released, is to build a program that will rival Britain’s Tour de France winning Team Sky.

He brushed off questions about his past comments slamming cyclists as “left-wing pinkos”, stating recent rides along the lake Ontario bike path aboard his new single-speed cruiser bike have changed his view of the sport and its participants.

Although no preliminary designs have been revealed, with his flair for style, the team’s kit will be sure to stand out in the peloton.
