Fall Epic 8 Hour presented by Specialized – Sept 22

release by Pulse Racing
August 16, 2012 (Hardwood Ski and Bike, ON) – We are very excited for the Fall Epic 8 Hour and are starting to work on the course. It was a hit last year and we have a few fun options to add in. It is a specifically designed course with lots of cool pieces of singletrack, cut thru’s, direction changes etc. Not too much climbing or overly technical, but will be a blast at speed!! A real good mix of double and singletrack broken up to allow for lots of safe passing, and fun riding. Stay tuned for notices once we officially open the course for pre-riding.

Enter soon online at HERE, and we have a special custom Epic 8 Hour Defeet Socks for the first 600 riders entered. Early Entry discount expires Sept 2, and we will also be doing custom number plates with team names for those entering before Sept 15.

Why an Epic 8?? The Epic 8 Hour Relay is all about the camaraderie, sportsmanship and the gritty, hard-core enjoyment of riding with friends. The Epic 8 Hour relay is a personal and team challenge to complete as many laps as possible from 10 am to 6 pm. Many riders prefer the 8 hour format for a solo challenge, but the majority of riders still enjoy the mix of fun, fast riding and the competitive (or not so competitive), social team atmosphere. Whether riding just for fun, or vying for a podium spot in your category, the Epic 8 Hour will be a memorable experience!

A couple of happy rider testimonials:

“I jumped into the 8 hour race on a whim not having done one before. It was a great experience. At around 4:00PM I felt my worst and felt better onward which was a great surprise. I have so many good memories of interacting with fellow riders and race volunteers and of just riding km after km. The watermelon and sponge breaks were welcome relief from the heat. It was just what I needed to immerse myself in to satisfy this wonderful and mysterious urge that is mountain biking. What a blast! Thanks for putting it on and for your encouragement along the way.” – A. Mill

“Hello, I attended the Epic 8 Hour riding with 1 of 3 teams. It was my first race and I am glad to say we finished second in the 80-119. I just wanted to say what a fantastic job the volunteers did, also it was so well organized and I look forward to attending the Fall 8 hour, thank you very much for the great time at Hardwood Hills and keep up the great work. Cheers” – J. Leenders
