July 9, 2006 – Just wanted to give Pedal readers an update on why Fabien Barel (Current World Champion) did not take part in the past two world cup events in Canada and Brazil.

Unfortunately Fabien was filming for the next New World Disorder Movie in Italy when he crashed and cut his arm very badly which resulted in 28 stitches with 15 of those on the muscle.

Unfortunately after being stitched back up he could not ride 100% so decided to wait and have physio to be 100% ready for the Worlds in New Zealand.

Barel’s next event will be the at the Nordic Finnish Championships in the Kona Bike Park of Levi, Finland on July 22-23 .
