Ed Veal Sets NEW World Record at Day of the Hour on Milton Velodrome

September 23, 2017 (Milton, ON) – National team rider, Ed Veal, left it all out on the track tonight as he set a new Best Hour World Record of 48.587km for 40-44 UCI Masters at The Day of the Hour, presented by Mercedes-Benz Oakville at the Mattamy National Cycling Centre in Milton, ON. Veal bested the current record of 48.411 km set by Jayson Austin from Sydney, Australia in Feb. 2013.

Prior to Veal’s ride, Day of the Hour organizer, Michael Kolesar from Mississauga, set a new Canadian record of 35.949km for men 65-69 years. The world record is 44.271 km held by Robert Gilmour from Newport, Great Britain.
