February 27, 2009 – Our hearts are heavy at this time. We are in the midst of planning a social function to celebrate the life of our recently deceased team-mate Doug Preston. I am putting out a request for a couple of things. First of all, if you have any photos of Doug we would appreciate having electronic or print copies that we can display. Second, if you have any stories or memories of Doug that you would like to share, please send them along, too. Your printed material can be short or long, serious or humorous. They can be emailed to rememberingdoug@telus.net.

We expect to have some details sorted out in the very near future and will distribute the information to BVC, other clubs and will place notices in some of the local cycling shops. We hope to have a book of condolences for people to sign.

Lastly, you can expect a call for help with a few of the matters related to the get-together, possibly including food, drink, music and post-event clean-up. I will of course encourage everyone to attend. If you have any special talent that would be helpful to the event, feel free to contact me or Cam Finnegan.
