April 3, 2009 – Happy Spring! Here is the latest news from the Dirt Series Crew. As the snow starts to melt, and the riding season inches that much closer, here are a few updates from the Dirt Series mountain bike camps.
Additional One-Day Camp Scheduled for Santa Cruz, CA on April 28, 2009
Remember how we mentioned in the last email that the Santa Cruz weekend camp sold out in two days flat? Well, the wait list that followed was so long that we decided to add another camp in town — a one-day camp on Tuesday, April 28.
That camp will include three skill sessions in the morning, lunch, an instructional ride in the afternoon, and an evening of bike maintenance, bike fit, food, drinks, prizes, and generally fun times at the Bicycle Trip too. Participants will be able to choose exactly what they’d like to learn, the kind of ride they’d like to do, and essentially all the different elements that work together to make the camps the awesome learning experiences they are. Co-ed Option in Laguna Hills, CA on May 2-3, 2009
More changes for the California portion of our program. Last year we ran the Laguna Hills camp as co-ed, but this year scheduled it as women’s only, only because we’d never done a women’s only program in Southern California before. Well, we had no idea how many guys had heard about last year’s version, and who had planned trips (and relationships) around attending this year.
So, after getting the okay from all the women who had signed up initially, we made an unprecedented change, and switched the Laguna Hills camp to co-ed. So, if you’re a guy interested in coming to warm sunny camp in May, or if you know a guy who’d get a ton out of participating, send them to this link here.
Recycled Accessories Registration Incentive
And, since we always like to put a bit of a gift into each of our emails, here’s a nice perk from BC based bike jewelry designer Recycled Accessories:
The next ten people to sign up for Dirt Series camps scheduled for the month of May, and who write Recycled Accessories in the comment field of their form, will win a new bracelet, made entirely from bike parts.
And, for those who are reading this but have already signed up for a May camp, email your name and camp to us, and we’ll put you in a draw for Recycled Accessories’ new Vertigo necklace, valued at $60 and featured on the front page of their site. We’ll draw for this on April 15, and of course let you know if you’ve won.
OK, one more. If you want to check out their site here and order something nice, use this promo code — DSP09 — and you’ll get a 15% discount. It’ll work for the next two months, but of course there’s no time like the present.
That’s it for now. We wish you all the best, and look forward to seeing you soon!
Karen, Candace, and the Dirt Series Crew.
