March 2, 2008 an established bike shop on Broadway at Granville – formerly Cyclepath – is now Different Bikes Vancouver. The long time owner and manager there Bob Heilker has joined the Different Bikes team and will continue to run the operations there with his current staff.

We’ve had lots of great feedback and encouragement from our customers since opening our first store just two years ago and the second last year. This encouraged us to look for another opportunity to extend our reach.

We’re pleased to announce that we found that opportunity and Different Bikes Vancouver is now open at 1421 West Broadway!

The owner and staff of the store formerly known as Cyclepath Vancouver have agreed to become part of the Different Bikes team and, effective immediately, will begin working together with our locations in North Vancouver and West Vancouver to keep building a reputation of great friendly service, excellent products and fair prices.

Bob and his team at the new DB Vancouver already have over 12 successful years of experience in the location and are excited to build on that by growing with us.

Q: Why lots of compact locations?
Smaller stores mean more personal service, by people you recognize.
More stores allows wider selection — when combined we have one of the largest new bike and parts inventories in BC! Easier to get to wherever you are — and your warranty, free tune-ups and customer information are integrated no matter which store you visit.

Q: Is this a franchise or chain?
Nope. Different Bikes was founded by a small group of friends and family who basically love bikes. Each location is managed by a part-owner and some of the staff are owners as well. Owners care more. The stores work together and share the same core vision of high service, friendly atmosphere and great products — but they differ by focusing on their local community and customer demands.
