February 14, 2014 (Winnipeg, MB) – The dates of 2014 Canadian Cyclo-cross Championships in Winnipeg have been moved ahead from their original November 1-2 slot and are now scheduled to take place on October 25-26, according to an announcement on the organizer’s official Twitter feed. The new dates also appear on the event’s website winnipegcx2014.ca.

According to the event’s Twitter, @WpgCX2014 , the UCI contacted organizers and requested the date change: “The reason? There is a new event being planned for Nov. 1-2 at which the UCI really wants to see a big field of Canadian racers.” The new event referred to in the tweet is most likely the Cincy3 in Cincinnati, which will host the first-ever Pan American Continental Championships on November 1-2, 2014. The race format for the Canadian Championships will remain as scheduled, with the title battle taking place on the Saturday, followed by a UCI C2 event on the Sunday.
